Seat Question

I have a seat out of a 1990 Chevy Truck. I want to mount it in my 1970 Chevy Truck. Can I mount my seat brackets from my original seat to the seat out of the 1990 Chevy truck? Thanks

Re: Seat Question

It's definitely not plug-and-play, but it can be done. Here's some pics of my in-progress swap. It's been back-burnered since I've got way bigger fish to fry with this truck. It WILL be cleaner looking when done.

Note, I used a set of 72 tracks, but it should work with other years too.

Basically, for the front, you make adapter plates to pick up the original hole in the seat plus drill one.

For the rear, you need to heat and bend down the seat mounting point on the track at about 3/4" above the track. Then make adapters similar to the front.

Bolt your tracks into your cab.Set the seat on top, and measure/move until centered. Mark plates where tracks end up, then remove.

Front of tracks should have plenty of space to bolt to the plates. In the rear, you will probably have to weld the tracks to the plates because the original seat mount hole will end up right on the edge of the track ( at least mine did ).

Sorry for the long-winded post, but hope it helps.
