Wider inner wheel tubs?

I am considering purchasing AMD's wheel that they are 4" wider. I'd like to run a 11 or 12" wide wheel. I'd like a more subtle look of 2" but can't find anything without having to fab something up.Does anyone have pics of their box with wider inner wheel tubs?
Any suggestions?

Why spend the extra money just to cut them up? Adding 2 inches to the stock width or taking two off is the same amount of work. The wider one cost more.

I went to the metal store and they cut 2" strips on the shear from a sheet for me. Cut and weld.

Your right but my stock ones are a little beat up. I should save some time with only 1 weld and less body work.

Give Dewayne at NSANE HOT RODS a call 865-761-0460. He has all the sheet metal for our old trucks. On his website he has wider wheel tubs listed.

Re: Wider inner wheel tubs?

I'm curious how it is working for guys that are going with 2" or 4" wider than stock? How are you cutting and modifying your bed floors, to look natural? Seems like both 2" and 4" would conflict with the layout of the bed floor, but not sure. The way that I did mine, was remove the width of one full high and one full low rib (corregation) out of my bed, cut my tubs in half, then measure the difference for the piece to fill in the tubs. I'm really curious how folks are doing this, though. I'm not finished yet. The way that I'm doing it, my bed tubs are going to come out 3.5" wider than stock. I had some 16ga. sheetmetal sheared at 3.5" x 4'. Though, with the curves of the tubs, I was thinking about buying another set, cutting 3.5" further in, and welding my two bigger halves together. This way there would be just one 4' joint to weld per tub, as opposed to two per tub. Then I found the AMD tubs, hoping that they were the appropriate width for the way that I did my bed modifications. However, they are 1/2" wider per side. I'll update when I get mine all wrapped up and installed. Hoping to keep it looking original, aside from the actual width. The more that i think about it, the more I'm thinking that the AMD tubs will probably work just fine for my bed floor that is shifted 3.5" per side. I think that i would just need to boot the tubs in, scribe a line to cut 1/2" more off, then mark and drill new holes. For $300, it might just be worth not shaping all of the curves, or 16' worth of welding.

Nik
