moving weight back is never a bad thing and if your looking to install a rack and pinion for better handling i think moving the motor back will be more then worth the trouble both for the weight displacement and the easier install

Right you are, and I would think it's worth it. But, I do see the need for another solution for those with running trucks, that don't wish to re-do exhaust and drive shafts.

oh I'll wind up moving it back I'm sure...and I've been waiting for a solution like this. Just a little short on the coin needed (its a good price, I was just hoping for cheaper?) to get the kit and make the changes need for it right now. I do need to do it before Goodguys comes back to town tho!

robnolimit,I would like to have rack and pinion for my daily driver. I would consider your bolt on R&P but right now, at least from what I read here, there really has not been a lot of road testing to see how it will perform and/or hold up. I guess I could wait a while, but like the others ,I would like to make an upgrade now if not very soon. I was wondering how to protect myself with such a new product. Do you have some sort of product liability insurance or do I have some kind of protection from your company in case of product failure?
The R&P looks good and I am very interested. Can you help me out?

E-Fab,
There's no way Rob could have a way to cover his product in your vehicle; he won't be installing it, he won't know what parts on your 40+ year-old truck are in need of replacement, he won't see the potential cracked frame the new R&P might propagate, so on and so forth.

I'm pretty sure he has a legal disclaimer that has wording like: "must be installed by a professional mechanic", "for off-road use only", and "Manufacturer is not responsible for any failures resulting from the installatioin of the product".

Now, I do know that Rob stands behind his product, and he's been "taking his time" getting this to market --- to make sure he finds any and all potential problems so we don't. From what I've seen, No Limit Engineering does not produce junk.

Of course, these are just my opinions.

I can't say I've ever looked for or expected any type of warranty like that with any other modification I've ever bought for my truck or any other vehicle, even from big companies. Are you looking for something that says "if this part fails and your truck careens into a bus full of orphans, you all get to sue No Limit Engineering"?

Honestly if you're looking to push the blame around like that in an incident involving a 40+ year old modified pickup truck...you're driving the wrong vehicle.

Sorry that I haven't been too available, I'm out of town at the moment. No, we will not have a manual rack version. We have three road test trucks, with 2800, 5000, and 9000 miles on them. We have pulled the tie rod ends off of the two high milers and tested them. We are looking for excessive play, above .0001" and have not found any signs of wear. We are recomending that these are wear items, and that the service interval is 25,000 miles. No Limit carries a 5 million dollar product liability policy, and it has never been used in 25 years. In front of that, No Limit has a Lifetime Warrantee policy, in that we will repair or replace any non-consumable item, manufactured by No Limit, for as long as you (product purchaser) own the vehicle. And, as always, we want you to be happy with the product, and you have 60 days after delivery to return it for a full refund, no questions asked. These practices have bben set up by no limit to help us build a strong reputation, and a happy and loyal customer base. A 'long Term' approach. I hope this helps with some of your concerns. I'll be back in the shop tues. Thanks again.

I have three cars that have many of no limit's parts. Every thing has worked
great. My 1953 chevy is 100% no limit drive train and i drive this car every day.
I have a lot of confidence in this rack system.

The supplied 3/4 DD shaft fits through the support bearing and into the u-joint.
