Re: "MINE" My 59 fleetside build

Working on setting engine in place and setting up the motor mounts, steering, headers trifecta.
I went with the GM performance oil pan, the Camaro one was not going to fit.
Speed engineering C10 swap headers fit great so far.......
For the mounts struggled with placement quite a bit.

Re: "MINE" My 59 fleetside build

nice mock up!
I would say, watch the clearance on the header to steering column shaft. it may transfer up the shaft and cook the ujoint. it looks pretty close in the pic.

Re: "MINE" My 59 fleetside build

do you plan to reinforce the tubing where it butts against the flat plate? wouldn't want that to flex and crack/break under extreme stress, like wide open throttle burn out or something, causing the engine to roll in the engine bay when it breaks. I remember back in the day we used to put safety chains on the engine so if a mount broke the engine didn't rotate and tear everything apart. what a mess. we had less power then usually too.

Re: "MINE" My 59 fleetside build

Well its been a while since I put up some progress, but I've been working steadily. I get a good pace going and keep forgetting to take pictures.
Started working on the rear and 4 bar set up.
