Man that's going to be LOUD with the air compressors inside the truck. Sweet project. Keep the pics coming!

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

Thanks, and Yes It Is Loud! I tried to find another place to run them but with the back being tubbed and a 33x 19.5 tire there are not alot of choices.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

I may have to switch to two small tanks instead of one to run something like you have. With the gas tank in the rear and tire size I have, there is very little room in the back. I am going to finish the rest of the truck for now. If the comp. are too loud I'll have to come up with something different.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

What I am doing with mine is building a box over all of it, I will have my subs and amps part of this box. it will hing to open to get to the air. So it will be all in one, and hope you can not hear the comp run..

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

Chevyrod I would consider putting a tank on one side and a compressor (or two) on the other side. I have the two small Thompson (Firestone) compressors mounted on the 82 Blazer and they aren't "too" bad.

Travis- On my 77 Cheyenne I have one ViAir mounted in the rear of the frame and it's still too loud. You are not going to like them mounted inside your truck.....

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

Thanks for the input
I have also thought of boxing it in like Tvblazer78. I was just a little worried about the comp. getting too hot. These Viairs seem to get very hot when they are running. I may end up running them outside right behind the rear tires on both sides. As for the tank I have now there is no way I have room outside for it.

I looked at air bags like what you have, but you had to move your right shock, is that what you had to do?

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

Chevyrod- The tank inside is no big deal. Put it where it works best. The compressor inside is going to make you crazy. I agree that it might get too hot under a cover.

tvblazer78-I look at air bags like you have on you truck, but you had to move your right shock, is that what you had to do?Was that for me or Chevyrod ? If it was intended for me, then yes my shock was moved to add clearence.

Re: progress pics of 79 pro street

Its been awhile since I have posted but here are a few current pics of the blazer in primer with the top on. I have made a little more progress, about 90% of the body work is doneand all I really have left before paint is smoothing out the top.
