Question 90to 04 disc brakes

I've got a 90 K1500 that I pull a old restored drag (ski) boat, and I've noticed a lot of brake:: fAiD WHEN i PULL THE BOAT,I thought about ssb,tsm,ect rear disc brake conversions,but that's a lot of scratch right now,so I found a 10 bolt,(disc brakes) out of a 04 avalanche $100.00 bucks,no soap!min rim requirements 18" rims (running 16")so I've been looking into ceramic shoes,the question is has anybody tried these and been successful in eliminating this problem?Steve
