Gauge Cluster removal
Been about 10 years since I removed the dash cluster on a 67-72. Question is I know there is the main harness that plugs into the curcuit board but is their a separate harness for the tachometer or is the tach hard wired in with individual wires?? Factory Tach cluster BTW.
I want to reprint my gauge needles since they are so faded. Thanks! |

There is a 2-prong L-shaped black plastic plug that goes directly into the rear of the tach - it can be unplugged from behind/underneath before removal. If there's enough slack, you can pull the cluster fwd a little before removal and see if you can get your hand back there - but you might as well yank it while your hand is up there to undo the speedo cable. Less likely to scratch your dash that way.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
