72 door panels will 70-71 fit mine
Ok guys, I have a question I have been told from so many people that a 70-71 door panel will fit on my 72 blazer. I like the metal flat panels more than the cheap plastic ones that come with mine. Will they fit or not. I have been told two different things from so many different people. I need some help before I buy some.

the regulators for the windows and door latches are longer on a 72,also the way the earlier panels screw on the bottom will have to be dealt with.

How do the panels attach differently?
The PO swapped a '72 driver's door onto my '70 Blazer, and while I may be missing something, I don't see any difference with how the panels mount.

the 72 door panels are attatched with plastic clips and the earlier ones are screwed on.

Well, I bought some today at pull a part. They do line up but you are correct the window and door spindles are a little longer. I'm just going to drill holes to connect them and try to figure out what to use to cover up that spindle.

could you get a set of window regulator from a 70-71 swap in? are the truck and blazer regulators the same

you'd have to use the 71 style doors to use those panels w/o any modding. Mine original doors were in bad shape and i like the 71 style panels so i bought truck doors and cut the window frame off since it was cheaper that way then buying blazer doors for my 72. but you might be able to get away with recovering them like mine depending on how much longer the cranks are. just an idea i guess.

Is the actual splined part long enough to grind down and still be functional? I bet not.

Yeah, looked today and you nailed it. Splines dont go all the way down.
