? about dart big m

does a dart big m block mount in the same way as a mkIV bbc? ive got a 498bbc now and am thinking of moving up to a 540 or 565....just wondering if the dart big m block will "bolt in" to the same mounts

Yes it should bolt up, just like the other engine. I have had both in my 5.30 index car with no changes at all. Both were 10.2 deck height. Paul

I have a 565 built with a Dart block and mounting points are the same as my old 468..

thanks for the offer...but its going to be a street motor...not a race application...just going to build a big puppy dog....something that will make respectable numbers on pump

Still might be a viable option. Ad up what all the stuff new is going to cost and compare that to changing pistons, cams and springs in a race motor. I think it was close to 17K to do this motor and that was a few years ago. With the quality of parts you get by dropping the compression in a race motor you can end up with a better motor with better parts and still save money.
