Looking for my Grandfather's 1968 C10

A couple years ago i got my Grandfather's 1986 C10. He passed away in 2001, and my uncle had the truck for about 14 years, and then he gave it to me. Along with it I got some paperwork, and found the VIN of his previous truck, a 1968 C10. I'm pretty sure it was blue, but I was 6 when he traded it in.

I don't know much about it, but, looks like the the VIN is CS148A117981. He traded it in at L.R. Cooke Chevrolet (180 E. High Street, Lexington KY 40507) with 70,415 miles on it on September 16th, 1986.
Based on the VIN, it was originally:

S - Six Cylinder
1 - 1/2 ton

Google search for the VIN gives ZERO results.

Long shot, but maybe someone here has it? I'm mostly curious about the truck, but I could be interested in purchasing or the right price/condition. I love that body style.

Perhaps the dealership has records of who bought it. If you want to read a an inspirational story of finding one's grandfather's 68 C10, then read the GRANDTRUCK story in my signature! Good luck to you!

Re: Looking for my Grandfather's 1968 C10

Thanks! Unfortunately, the dealership is long closed and gone. the location has been an empty lot, now a parking lot, since around 2003 it looks like (google earth)

I read through your story, that's awesome you were able to get your 68 back.

At least now this thread shows up in a google search for the VIN. So if someone searches google for it knowing something about the truck, and ends up here: PLEASE POST HERE OR REACH OUT!
