New Engine coming

A few months ago we took in an 86 lwb that had been hit in the front. The owner never came and picked it up, so my boss bought it at our public auction. the truck came new with a 305 . However, the engine in it now im about 90% sure is a 350 I ran the numbers on the front of the block and they were v011ufc. That suffix code comes back to a 1980 350 that most likely came out of a van. If there are any 2nd opinions out there I would appreciate it. I will get some pics up this weekend.

Re: New Engine coming

In 1986, I was selling GMC Trucks and the only v8's available in a 1/2 ton were 305's. #/4 ton got the 350 or 454 etc etc.

I can only assume Chevy was the same.

Now in 1987, the FI 350 were put in the 1/2 tons.

Hope this helps.
