Question for you on a different upper mounting approach for the coilover. What are peoples thoughts about cutting off the part of crossmember that the upper coilover is mounted to and then make aup an entirely different mount that allowed you to increase the length of the coilover and spring and in turn suspension travel.

If you could get past the upper control arm cross shaft it'd work.

Thanks for showing. This was very helpful since I have been thinking about putting coil overs on the front of my 65 C10. It started from looking at 4 link suspension with coil overs. Nice to have a little adjustment without all the air bags.

Reviving an old thread......

I like what I'm seeing here but wonder if one could skip a buncha fab work for a static drop of smaller size.

I have 2.5"drop spindles with one coil cut from the stock springs. Thinking about removing the springs and putting QA-1 coilover shocks in place of the factory shocks.

I imagine that's WAY too much pressure for the stock mounts, but assuming that I'm able to make a reinforced upper mount, what other downsides would I have against the full blown rearrangement that has been documented here?

Anyone done this and have a picture / review of performance over using a coil and regular shock instead?
