$$$Jeep Grand Wagoneer$$$

My buddy called me up and asked if I would do some dealing on a 1989 Wagoneer for him. His father in law is in the hunt for one. I looked at the price of $21000 and said wow, that's a lot of dealing to do. He reassured me it would sell at that. Since I'm not much of a mopar/jeep/dodge/Chrysler fan I had to do some research. Holy smokes do those things bring the money. The $21000 machine has been forgotten about and he is looking at much more expensive pieces. He put a deposit on one, and is sending me and my buddy to NY to look at one next week. It is a 'final edition' with a sunroof. As I said, not a jeep fan, but these things are pretty neat and I'm excited to make the trip - the guy has about 20 of them that he restores.

Re: $$$Jeep Grand Wagoneer$$$

As someone who worked on those things as typical daily-used drivers back in the day: Without some upgrades the quality leaves alot to be desired on those machines.........

I can imagine. I cant see a late 80's carbureted V8 producing a whole lot of horsepower. And, its a Jeep.

Re: $$$Jeep Grand Wagoneer$$$

Had a 90 grand waggie and I regret selling it. Solid Wyoming truck but paint was shot. I sold it to buy a 70 jimmy but am really considering selling it to buy another wagoneer. I have seen prices up to $60,000 or more....crazy!

Jeez. I had no idea that they brought that kind of money. I'll have to keep my eyes open. Lots of Jeeps up where I live.

Re: $$$Jeep Grand Wagoneer$$$

As said the quality had some to be desired. I had a mid eighties jeep pickup briefly back in the day and it was a real pooch. Very little power and poor materials used. They rusted even sooner than the other makes of the day. That said, I always liked the look of the wagoners and can see the attraction.

Re: $$$Jeep Grand Wagoneer$$$

I have had a few of them . From the 70s to my last one a 1987 grand wagoneer . Wish I had kept my 77 . Nice truck bare minimum of creature comforts . 4 inch lift manual hub locks manual 4 wheel select, vacuum lockers front and rear. The 87 was a totally different vehicle every option leather interior full plush carpet. Went from a truck to a luxury SUV . Still was a great vehicle with quadra trac . Been looking but a nice one is very pricey. Found one in Arizona that had 51k miles always garaged so the interior was mint to .... 55k$ . Not easy to find parts for these and no one makes seats for these so replacing a leather seat or two gets pricey

I have had a few 4x4 Eagles too
