Me too. This area was once a nice little no light country town in farm land. Now it's busy street and an upscale suburb. But,there's still some good farming going on. It was refreshing for me to see this big grain truck in the midst of all that

Some nice trucks there. That Black Tandem Dump is about the nicest one I've ever seen of it's type. I'd call that a Super Heavy Medium.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azZHQa9dgmU

Although this video is not a Chevrolet 40 to 60 series truck, the engine powering this 1971 GMC TDH-3301 transit bus is the same Toro-Flow DH478 diesel V-6 as used in those trucks. Due to the poor nature of the beast, these were usually replaced by other engines, including the Detroit Diesel 6V53.

This leads me to ask: does anyone here have any pictures of any 1967-72 CG/MG50s or CG/MG60s with the DH478 engine?

Living out in the country, I'm starting to keep my eyes open for bigger stuff. There is a truck identical to this sitting in a field near my house. What are these things worth? And... what would I use it for?

Some of these C/M50s/60s had the Detroit Diesel 4-53N engine, just like some of the mid/late 1970s equivalents did. I wonder who still has one of these examples from the 1967-72 period (with the 4-53)?

I hope you get it. I see what you see in that. What a special rig? It's got it all. I'm rooting for you. That way, if you get it I can have a chance at it if you decide to sell. I would just hitch hike on over to your place and drive it home .
A GMC light truck gets me more excited than a Chevy, but in bigger trucks, it's the opposite. Light trucks are the little play toys sold by GM's truck company. Medium-heavy duty Chevys are the big end of the same company that built the Corvair and Chevette. One thing I loved about GM was how diverse they were. Not quite so much any more. But, who cares about new stuff except to get you from point A to point B. At least that's my attitude on it

I use my truck for hauling trees and remodeling demolition to the dump. Now that the house is about done I'm thinking about selling it. It may only get used one time a year and I have access to other trucks when I need them. As far as what they are worth I'm thinking about asking $3000 and see If I get any bites. From asking around I've been told that is a good starting place. I have seen a truck like mine that was in very nice condition inside and out bring about $6000 at an auction four years ago. That price surprised a lot of people, but there were two guys there who wanted it and that's all it takes.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

the Chevy 90 LongNose 8v-71 tandem I posted a while back, sold Sunday... I was out "camping" with the family..... I checked the auction results today when I got home....
$100 was the sale price. I feel certain it is destined for selling off for its weight in scrap

I talked to the owner today, if I can come up with his asking price it is mine, the tranny has been swapped for a Road ranger of some type and it comes with a spare truck ! so I will have ( fingers crossed) a PAIR of screaming Jimmy's to deal with shortly

I'm going to guess that's a '68. Just a guess for the heck of it.

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

It's actually a Short Hood. Also if it is a 9500, someone changed out the Windshield and sawed out the Center Bar. If the Directional Lights are original, the truck is a 1970 or newer. Does look like an early one though !!

Re: 67-72 C/K/T-40's-90's!

Actually, I knew it was a short hood (butterfly) and smaller than the 9500. I thought the square turn lights were later , but the clearance lights still say not real late to me.

Just one I drove by the other day....
