steel wheels and hubcaps

I see wheel vintiques sells a 16x8, 8 lug wheel that accepts a dog dish style hubcap. I thought about picking up a set for my 03 2500 HD and painting them body color (pewter) Does anyone have a picture of one of these trucks with this style of wheel?

Re: steel wheels and hubcaps

I don't have any pictures for you, but I would check and make sure that 16" will clear the brake calipers. I know that the stock 8 lug trucks come with 16" but I've read some have trouble with non OEM 16" rims not clearing and going to a 17".

I believe the OEM 8 lug wheels are a bastard 16.5 rim which is why most have to find a 17 inch after market rim to clear the calipers.

Re: steel wheels and hubcaps

I've never seen it done on newer than 88-98 style, but the trucks came with 16s, so why not? I run 7" Accurides on my '95 8-lugger with 76-91 Chevy Hubcaps. I figure if I get an 03-07 that's what I'll do. No 16.5s on any truck this century for sure. I first had this set on a '92 K3500 painted rallye wheel silver (argent), same color as original steel wheels, for an original-ish look
