WTH!! Since when is pastrami $16.00 a pound! I asked my wife to get me some pastrami and rolls. Had not had a hot pastrami in a long time. Got all my fixings out and was shocked to say the least. It was worth it however!

Watch the ad's, on the 3rd friday (i think) they have roast beef and pastrami on sale for 7.99 or less a pound

I would never shop at Safeway (one of three choices in town) if it weren't for their club, sale, and Just 4U prices. Their full retail is ridiculous. I buy very few things, like milk, at full price regardless. Some things I do without unless they cut the price seriously. I just bought a pack of 3 color shredded cabbage for $.99 on sale. Regular price said 3 for $5, which is new with the sale price sticker. It's normally about $1.20. WTH??? How much is one pack? Price not even given, as if it's normal to buy three at a time. It's not normally $1.66+@ but they lead you to believe that. So dishonest and why? I mean do you have to trick people into buying food?? When the other stores sell 2 for $x.xx you only buy one and you pay half that price. But at Safeway you have to buy two to get the price break. Buying more than I need of a perishable item is spending more, not saving. They must really think the public is a bunch of fools.

I buy frozen peach slices for my oatmeal I eat everyday. At Safeway they are $3.99 and at Food Lion they are $2.99. And theirs comes in a more expensive zip-loc package so they don't freezer burn.

I buy avocados regularly. When they raise the price the price sticker says, "New Low Price!". Just sell me the food, please, and stop insulting my intelligence. I promise I will keep buying food until I die.

Ya don't get a pound of pastrami on a sammich that costs $11. Just sayin'. I went to the local Hat and got a pastrami sammich today. That bucket of fries is nuts for size- huge. I dump the meat out of half the bun and eat the fries (usually only half, but pigged out today).

And save the other half of the meat from the sammich for breakfast the next day!

That's prepared food at a restaurant. I can make sandwiches all week for what one sandwich costs eating out. Even at $16 a lb you can make quite a few sandwiches for way cheaper than anywhere out for one. Apples to oranges. I paid less than $12 for a Timken differential bearing that I hope will last a lot longer than a pound of pastrami, but it doesn't taste as good

Oh man do I miss "The Hat' We had one close when I lived in So. Cal. You're right. They give you a lot. Easily enough for two meals. I would go about once a week. The burgers are the best too.
