Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
The red truck is Jason Vannatta we are friends on FB. He has a company called vannattafabrication.com he is a master builder and specializes in the 67-72 trucks.
The blue dually looks like the one off TV that Texas metal built. There are a few members here that went last year and even more planning to go this year out of our local club here in SC. Upstate SC GM truck club. I haven't decided 100% if I'm going are not yet. https://www.facebook.com/groups/UpstateGMtrucks/

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
Well, the show was postponed due to COVID but it happened in September. We hauled my wife's OG S10 down (pic with battleship) and ended up winning a 'Top100' award! There were over 700 vehicles that showed. We have already reserved rooms and will be going back again in 2021. Soooooo.........who is going next year?

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
I highly recommend this show. Lots of HIGH quality rides from all over the country show up. This year the event coordinator had to cap the number of registrants.

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
I'm glad to see you are finally getting some responses. Thanks for keeping at it. Your wife's S10 came out nice. Looks like a lot of work went into it

When in May is this normally held? I would like to go to it for some motivation to get mine done.

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
I have been wanting to go, but I believe that is my son's college graduation weekend, so I'll probably miss it again this year.

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
OOoohhh, coming up quick! They had to put a cap on this years show at 1300 vehicles.....it's sold out. No more spots. We got ours early and are eating 'Tacos on the Battleship'! And in typical trucker fashion I'm working on the truck with last minute type stuff, LOL!

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
The big show starts in 5 DAYS!!!! And in typical car guy fashion, I literally just finished up swapping out a bunch of parts and test driving the truck!! Washed it this morning and have a couple days to get it fully polished and detailed........

Re: Anybody go to Battle in Bama?
I've been at it since 9am this morning with a few breaks here and there.
Started with a wash.......a good scrub with a shaggy mop head and some stuff that strips all the old wax, tree sap, bug guts, etc. Followed by a normal wash, rinse, and dry. Then I did a prep wipe and got out the polish and 6" buffer. Polishing is about complete. Then another wipe down and some Meguire's 'Gold Class' wax. |
