Help 64 12 bolt Carrier with 17 spline

got into my 64's Carrier spider gears and clutches were shot from everything i found it was one in a million iv herd you cant rebuild them iv seen a few parts for this kind under corvettes but to kinda rebuild it with new spider gears and clutches is just as much as a new carrier one of the problems is every new carrier thats 12 bolt is 30 spline and any one thats 17 spline is 10 bolt does anyone have any idea how i can get a 12 bolt carrier that will fit my c10 and has a 17 spline so i dont have to get new axles to open to all ideas since this rear end is a one year wounder thanks guys

63 and 64 tks had 17 spl. should be a bunch of good used gears out there as a lot of people went to 5 lug 30spl axles

No reason to replace the spider gears unless they are loose in the case side.
If you can find clutches, I'd rebuild it.

Many years ago, I was told those are a Dana posi unit. The hardest part for me was getting those stout springs out. I did end up breaking some of the edges off of the aluminum plates. I of course welded them back up and ground to shape. I don't remember if the clutches are the same as a Eaton or not.

thanks guys i ended up finding a rear end on CL out of a 66 its not a posi but it will get the truck moving and now i at atleast have new 30 spline axles and pinon it so now i can upgrade to a eaton posi down the road before my axle and everything were 17 spline there must have have been a good reason they only put that carrier in for that one year

The 17 spline axles were used in the truck 12 bolt for '63 & '64. I believe they may have also been used in the Eaton HO32/33 from '55-'62.
