WOW! Finally got me a "Girlie car!"

...and I am SO excited, I just had to share!

A whopping' $(secret low cost) and a 2 hr. road trip = ET's new winter DD.

From what I was told... 289, 4 speed, Monza buckets(?) (know squat about
Fords), says clutch is garbled up. He mentioned that his brother used to reach
under the fender to make the clutch work.

He said he thought it may have been an auto originally and knew for sure
(he thought, kinda) that it was now a manual car 4-speed in there).
Also, said he thought the radiator was toast.

Floor shift w/ afore mentioned buckets. V-8, 4 round tires plus the engine
compartment looked pretty darned complete.

Pretty much what you'd expect for a car that's been sitting for years.

Anyhow, here's the 3 pics I took...pretty rusty body (according to
PNW "rusty") but, despite the duel sunroof, it was dry inside with
no signs of dried out mildew, poke-my-finger-thru holes or the sticky
crap that attacks the steering wheel.

Since the body panels are toast anyway, I'll use creative license on
spiffin' her up... exterior spackle, flashing & bomb cans come to mind.

Cool beans! A buddy of mine back in HS days had a 65? Might be 66?
Anyway his dad restored Mustangs. This one was a 6 3 on the floor.
Not fast buts lots of fun.

Yup. and keeps getting better. Accel dist, street dominator intake, big hulking' Holley bbl.

Engine fired and ran crappy on carb cleaner...changed plugs & wires (cuz I had them).
I'll fire her up again after a fuel pump change today.

Carb cleaner reveled a bright red interior

but she needs sooo much cleaning!!!!!!!!!

I have a gas tank for you if you can make it work. I unnecessarily replaced the one in my Buick. No fill neck (I had to reuse it). http://www.discountbodyparts.com/cat...dbpid=shopping

By monza he probably means a chevy monza it was a eco car of the late 70s.If you take a picture of the seats i can tell you if they are ford or not tho.If you want to know how the car was built new if the door tag is there you can decode it mustangdecoder.com

Yup...drove a few Monzas in my day...why I made the duffie Ford comment we will never know.

Anyhow..
1. Seats (backwards too!)
2. Package tray

3. PO's tail lights
4. Some I had stashed

I ran the trim tag and it showed a bronze car with ivory
(Palomino?) interior. Factory paint in this car was red.
Sure wish they would have put tags on both doors!

Did find a neat old security system though...
Haven't researched it yet...I assume aftermarket:

Yeah those front seats ain't ford the rear is factory tho.That alarm is a new one on me kinda odd having a key hole in the quarter panel like that.I forgot to tell you on that door tag see if the vin on it matches the under hood one to see if that door tag goes with that car.

Numbers were totally divorced from the cars I.D.
Surely a door change and lot's of other mixing and
matching over the years.

No worries on the seats...bottoms are completely
gone (as in you sit on the floor!) plus I have a buddy
with a red set that are right for the rig.

Thanks for all the help...I'm totally a Chevy Truck gal
so I'm just beginning to learn how to research this.

Is there a Mustang message board out there that
