Talking Like Spring!

Today was a spring day here in SC! 75* and shorts & flip flops!

I started out cleaning up the garage and finished with a little golf cart work and in between I worked on the 64 Impala!

I cleaned up the garage first. I got rid of a bunch of trash and boxes and did general cleanup. swept the whole place up and cleaned off my work bench.

Then I worked on the fan shroud for the impala. I got it where it cools the car off without the electric fans ever coming on while running. I let it idle with ac on high and it never got over 190*. Went for a drive for about a hour and it never got over 190. I think it's good. The slow speed will kick on after the motor is shut off. The temp went up to 190 but the electric fan got it back down pretty quick. The slow speed fan will come on for about 1 minute are so. I have it set to cut off at 180*
I also made a front air dam for it. I had bought it a while back for $20.00 so I figured I try it.

I then worked on a customer golf cart and made $100.00! Had a good day.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Like Spring!

It's been an odd season. Colder than normal to warmer than normal, back and forth all winter. Broke some old records, but I imagine no affect on the average temp. It's not over, but no snow over 2" around here. It was warm last week, cold came in just enough to snow all afternoon last Saturday. I took off from my place after it had been snowing a couple hours (roads just wet due to warmth) for my friend's place up on the mountain. It was a winter wonderland driving in the snow up through the hemlocks and along the rocky runs. No one out and he ended up with about 6" up there. Just took it nice and easy going down later on. Snow was on the road all the way back. Down here it was all melted the next day and within a couple days we have 75 degree weather a couple days. Those same days in '15 were 5* and 1* for the low. It stayed in the upper 50s at night. I did some trimming, raking, and general tidying up around the yard. I'm ready for mulch as soon as the put it out for sale... next month!

I had made plans with a friend to run down to the Keystone Tractor & Truck Museum just south of Richmond, VA on Tuesday. It's a thing I've wanted to do in winter because it's an all indoors type of thing. Well, on down Interstate 95 we rolled along with our windows down. It was a shame to be inside most of the day when it was so nice. On our way back we stopped in on Fredericksburg and ate supper at a Mexican place, outside along the river at night in t-shirts!

The big question lately has been "Is it winter or summer?" and my answer has been "Both". I just love spring and can wait patiently for the 75+ temps.

Re: Like Spring!

Andy ..I am jeaous of your weather,,I can't wait for the weather to break here and become spring so it is not so cold in my garage and be able to park our car out in the driveway so I can start wiring my 39 up with turn signals and then after that install the new transmission.. I like lots of room to do stuff..

I am lucky as I have 4 neighbors who bought them new Troy snow blowers and there is no need in buying one they tell me ,,so today we may get a few inches a snow again and all I have to do is look out the windown and them 4 guys are I think are racing to do all the side walks and drive ways in our Culdi Sac,, so I sure dont want to get out car in their road,,do I ?

Re: Like Spring!

I'll weigh in with some Canadian weather from the PNW.
We actually had a bit of snow here (1"-2") over the last couple of days. This is not very common for us so quite the novelty in certain respects.
On top of that the temperature is not rising much...still pretty close to 0°c (32°f).
Well, no big deal....I've been pretty busy with work and inside projects so spring can wait a little longer I guess.

Talking Re: Like Spring!

Sorry guy's for the cold weather your all having! I wore shorts and flip flops again today 78* and it has been beautiful! Cleaned up the yard and burnt off all the leaves.
Worked on the golf cart some more and got all the lights working. I waxed the top, hood and trunk of the 64. I finish up the sides tomorrow.
