Wink Re: 1965 Burb Rear Sliding Window Frame??

Is that an aftermarket option for the burb?

American Classic has a large and small rear sliding window for sale... not usre if it is the same deal or not.

That's no option, that's the way the sliding side windows are factory installed on the Suburbans.
Mine is rusted, too.
American Classic truck parts lists a replacement kit per window at $45. I need to chat with them on Tuesday and check the details. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Re: 1965 Burb Rear Sliding Window Frame??

I talked to the folks at American Classic. The channel that they supply is a flexible coil of u-channel. Original is a formed C shaped section that seems to be rigid. I'm thinking the flexible replacement won't support the glass as it should.
I'm still checking out other options.
I'll let you know what else I find.

Dan

Re: 1965 Burb Rear Sliding Window Frame??

I welded in some channel iron for the bottom portion-don't remember the exact size, but it's standard. I then got the liner/rubber kit from Chevy Duty(?). Not too tough a fix...
