I also decided to use their carbon fiber metallic base - UA-61264- with my Nason clear. I can't wait to get it finished.

I am thinking about using their satin clear if I end up painting my truck suede. You could probably put that over their black epoxy and have a nice combo.

I bought my stuff from this place - great prices and service to boot.

I am thinking about going with SEM hot rod black. I see that hot rod flatz has many colors to choose from, but have heard quite a few mixed feelings on the product.

I like that red btw.
Thanks, the white is just single stage off brand "vintage white"

BTW dont use JD blitz black if you ever want to repaint either. That stuff is hard as a rock. I still use it for frames and floors though, works awsome in a area where you need a tough paint and cheaper cost than POR15. Ive painted a few cars with it...hense the screen name.

Re: Satin / Flat / Matte Black Paint?

Silver 7 post some pics.

Blitz'd I was going to ask some questions about JDBB. I've been reading up on different products. Just when I set my mind on one I see or read something that makes me change.

I am now starting to look at some other colors, still in a satin though.

Click on the hyperlink to my build thread and you'll see all of the photos I have. Should have more posted to it soon since I plan to primer my recent frame surgery and remaining chassis parts I picked up from the sandblaster yesterday.

Re: Satin / Flat / Matte Black Paint?

I have used JD Blitz Black on tractors for years and last year I used it on my In-law's hunting buggy. When I did the truck I used Valspar hardener in it as well the reducer. He wanted everything black on it. This is how it turned out.

Re: Satin / Flat / Matte Black Paint?

I've had my paint for little over a year, and there are a few things I noticed;

I used Martin Senour paints for everything except clear. Clearcoat was the Satin Clear from the Paint Shop line, I wanted to try it out.

The base paints worked out pretty great, for having never painted anything before, I'm really really happy with a "working quality" paint job. I have a couple VERY small (1/2 cm) areas of bubble/lift, I'm guessing there was something leached into to the filler, and I' must not have done enough to handle it.

The clear is very soft initially, and even after about a week, its softer than a normal catalyzed clear. Here a year later, it holds up, but you can tell its not perfect.

It get SO FREAKING DIRTY ALL THE TIME. And to maintain the finish you need to use a good matte-friendly wash. I have the Satin paint was from Chemical Guys, and it work great....even better when put through the Foam Lance on our Pressure Washer.
