Mrs Fisher
My wife has gotten this on her mind and want leave me alone. She wants a old aluminum Christmas tree like she had when she was young. She wants to put it up stairs for our grandson Rhett and decorate it with trains. She has bought a light all ready but haven't found a good deal on a tree yet. Any of you have one are know where one at for sale.
Preferably a 1960 era 6' tree is what she really wants but we would settle for just about anything! Well I would anyway. I know as many of you that collect stuff somebody has got to know where one is!

Re: Mrs Fisher
My wife wanted one and we searched for awhile, seen several at antique stores around this time of year. We lucked up on one at a flea market for a good price and also found a color wheel for it there too.

Re: Mrs Fisher
Youve go to get the round circle with 3 or 4 colors on the wheel to shine on it.

Re: Mrs Fisher
Yea your right. I remember when M&D got ours the first year it was magical. Now it's magical if you can find one at a good price.
I got $175.00 in this set up so far. Next is to find a rotating light tree stand with music that I can afford.

Re: Mrs Fisher
I don't think we are doing the light right though. Here are the video's of it. Which one do you think is best.
I like the 3 one the best but need to bring the light up closer to the glass.

Re: Mrs Fisher
Pretty neat thread. I have this coming, the woman I will most likely marry is all about all American holidays. Christmas trees are not "a thing" in her part of the world and she is very excited to get to put one up and decorate it, put lights on the house, SEE SNOW THE FIRST TIME. Etc.
I think it'll be great fun. |

Re: Mrs Fisher
I was on FB last night and came across a page for these old aluminum POM POM tree's and how to set them up. The light wasn't doing like we wanted so I have been looking for advise. I found the perfect solution thanks again to FB.
A 90 watt LED flood light is perfect. It doesn't get to hot and it shoot's the light up into the tree. Now we wait on the revolving tree stand! That should set it off and she will be happy.

Re: Mrs Fisher
Oh ya LED is Da Kine. I replaced all eight outside flood lamps with bright white LED bulbs. Way brighter than the old floods with less heat and energy use.
