Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

Got most of the fuel lines done fuel filter housing and lift pump mounted. Got gauge cluster painted and put in a volt gauge got ride of amp gauge. The alt is a 140 amp that would burn the factory shunt wire. I made new wiring harness for the engine and installed a high amp dist block. I made a new front wiring harness also I am still waiting for a fuel sending unit from a 72.

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

Love it! I like your pics, keep'em coming. I'm a diesel technician. I like the 6.5's but the one in my 97 4x4 crew dually is sickly. I would like to swap a mechanical pump in but after I factor in the cost of that and everything else, I think I'm going to swap in a 12v instead. I do like your idea of a mechanical 6.5 in your 68. It's different and you will like the fuel mileage.

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

Also what made you want to keep the fuel tank in the cab? Most use a blazer tank under the rear of the bed.

Re: 68 c10 6.5 turbo diesel

To keep it original. Plus I like filling up the tank from sitting inside lol. It easy to swap mech pump on 6.5. The other way is hard. All you need is a 90s pump a 93 is the best if it a 4911. Get pump and lines and that's it hook up one wire and done make sure throttle bracket is on pump.
