i know im not the only one putting a s10 frame under a AD truck i would like to see some pics. and what about the rear axle i guess im going to have to tub the bed.

i dont have any pics(not done yet0 but im using a 4wd s10 axle that will space the rears out perfectly.

did you buy the AD Engineering kit?

looks good. im bluiding my own kit the body will sit 2" off the frame and 7" off the ground.

doing the same to my ad 54. read your other post on the frame swap. do you have that step by step directions done yet. i was going to buy the advance engerning kit but if you have your step by step done i'd be intrested.

who ever has the step by step instructions is who i was refering too. I'm building my 54 into a rat rod so I'm tring to do it as cheap as possible to stick with the whole rat rod idea.so any help on putting my cab on the s10 frame would be great.

well i dont have the step by step instructions but i can assure you its very very easy w/ the AD Engineering kit. If you want i can do a little write-up of my progress so far, im now taking the body off of hte 48 and should be puttin it on the s10 frame within the next week or 2

Do you forsee any problems with the rad. core support and the front bumper braces and the alingment of the hood and front fenders? Will the track width be the same as the AD's?

With the AD Engineering kit i bought they ship you 2 corner pieces that support the corners of the Rad. The alignment of the hood and front fenders shouldnt be a problem. From what i can tell, all ill need to do is weld the corner rad supports onto the frame, then bolt it all together. Are you talkin about the track width of the frame? then yes it is the same. The bumper braces shouldnt be a problem as the frame is the same width and location. I hope this made SOME sense, its late and ive had a long day.

tomorrow Ill be pulling the bed off and hopefully the cab the next day. Next week ill have more updates on the cab placement and such, its been an absolute BREEZE so far.

lrall thanks for the reply but I am trying not to use the advanced design engineering kit. I was trying to find out how the individuals that are making their own kits are making out. I want to save as much money as possible when putting my truck together to stick with the whole rat rod theme. I am good at welding and fabing but wanted to get all the yeas and nays of doing you own home built s10 frame swap kit. Not that their is any thing wrong with buying a kit, I want to do it myself.

oh, with that said, i think if you do a couple measurements here and there itd be EASY, the kit im using has 4 mounts(uses the s10 bushings) and overall makes the design more stable. I dont know if it would help you to get the measurements between the mounts? I know that in the kit instructions it had specific spots for the mounts and if you were to make your own mounts u could use the locations and just make the cab height however tall/short you wanted.

i would post em up but the instructions are like 10 pages long and i dont wanna get in trouble w/ any copyright BS they might have, but ill throw up some dimensions. The mounts extend 6" above the frame rail. The mounts are 32.5" apart measured inside to inside(these are the front to back mounts) and 40.5" outside to outside. The left and right mounts are 43 1/8" inside to inside and 50 1/8" outside to outside.

The FRONT cab mount is 2-1/8" forward of the oval frame hole(the one nearest the stock front cab mount) this is the alignment point for the rear edge. Rear cab mount is 10-1/4 to the rear of the 5/8 round frame hole. this is the front alignment point for the cab stand. Hope this all makes sense, BTW, the kit i bought includes running board supports and bed supports and new radiator supports
