In response to some of the other questions, it is a bone stock 350. Quadrajet, stock intake,divorced choke,heads, manifolds,etc. it has dual exhaust with cherry bombs.
All I’ve done to upgrade was HEI, and I have tried both Chevy hei and skip white. Problem remained with both.

A quick update on my seemingly never ending quest. My compression test was all in a 110 - 125 psi. The fellow I bought the truck from, said he wasn’t sure, but thought it had around 50,000 miles on the engine. I would think that those numbers would be ok for an engine in that range of miles.
What do you guys think?

Not real exciting, but not all that bad. I don't like to see that much variation in pressure between cylinders, but you're not racing it.

Well I found the problem, the brand new wires I had put on just a few months ago were already burning out. Three boots were split, one had a hole all the way through.
Now I’m looking for new wires. I’ve looked up some threads on this and it looks like I’ll be looking for 75 corvette wires prob from Taylor. Any more specific suggestions? Keep in mind this is a stock engine and I have manifolds too. Preferably in the $60 and under range. Thanks

Do you have the heat shields on your truck? If not, the heat can eat up the boots and wires pretty quickly. Though I will say that a set of Mallory HEI wires survived just fine with the headers, when I had the SBC in my Buick.

For the more challenging areas:

Do all ignition areas first, then on to the carb.

Mine started acting up and I did not notice until I checked the vacuum advance.
Dam thing had sprung a leak and stopped working. I updated it with an adjustable unit.

Runs like a champ now.
