Re: Paddle or pedal?

I enjoy both. I don't have a modern MTB. I still ride my '84 Mt. Klein, as well as my Schwinn Cruiser 5 or my custom-built clunker from before there were MTBs made. I paddle both whitewater and flat water. My whitewater boats are custom-built by a friend and my cruisers are Old Towns, a Loon 111 and now a Heron 9XT I just recently bought. I'd like to scratch up the money for some newer design MTB, some day. You don't have to own the stuff to enjoy these things, but it does make it easy to go whenever you want or can.

I'll add some pictures of my old stuff

Re: Paddle or pedal?

I sold my paddle boat.

I have a MTB hanging in the garage. Just can't seem to get the damn thing started so it stays up there. Maybe after it cools off I'll give it another try

Re: Paddle or pedal?

No whitewater around here so I float my Wilderness Systems Ride 115 on the rivers and my Old Town Otter on the smaller streams. My bike stable is bigger. My main ride is 2 steel Salsa El Mariachis, one hardtail single speed, one rigid single speed. Also have full suspension Trek EX9, and for gravel I am building an old 26" Lynskey.

Re: Paddle or pedal?

I have three steel-framed bicycles hanging up in my garage. I haven't ridden them in decades. *One is an original BMX from my teenage years.

I bought a row boat out of a junkyard last fall.....I hope to learn to row it.

Maybe after I get ripped up doing P90X this summer I'll be able to ride and row later.

Re: Paddle or pedal?

Dude, you're asking about all the things I do today.

Twenty-year bike industry guy, I am a MTB rider through and through. Haven't worked outside the bike world at all since 2003.

Also just now getting into packrafting - an inflatable raft I can roll up small enough to carry on the bike!

Between these two things, music, and my 72 Super I don't seem to have much time left.
