71 c-20?

Hello, will a 71 C-20 have disc brakes from the factory, or is that a 72 only?
thanks Greg

Thanks, I'm sure this has been asked before, I have a 78 Chevy C30 dually for parts onhand. What is involved in moving that Disc brake setup over to my 70 2500 GMC? VS pulling Disc brakes off of a 71 C-20?

Re: 71 c-20?

Greg, I have a 70 C20 with Front drum brakes. I bought a 72 C20 parts donor with disc brakes. My 70 has 1/2" studs and the 72 has 9/16" studs.
Apparently GM felt that they needed to go to bigger studs with more braking power of the discs.

Re: 71 c-20?

Thanks for the reply.
Does anyone know if the 1 ton disc brakes off of a square truck can be used on a 70?

Greg
