16x6 6 Lug GM Steel Wheel with 4" BS

Did GM make 16x6 6 lug steel wheels with 4 inch back spacing?

Thanks
Les

I have a couple of these stored somewhere. If I find them and I remember then I'll measure. But I would guess that they have something around a 3.5" to 4" backspace. Most of these wheels had close to zero offset.

Les--I've never seen one with 4" back spacing, just around 3.5 as Jason said. Not saying they aren't out there. Now maybe some were built for late model tks though?

Re: 16x6 6 Lug GM Steel Wheel with 4" BS

I like these 16x6 because they fit nicely over disk brake calipers. They are pretty hard to find in my experience. I once had a nice matching set of 5 that came off one of my uncle's trucks, but since I transitioned both my 4x4 trucks to 3/4 ton I didn't need them and sold them. I would like to eventually locate a couple more to complete a set with the ones I still have and put them on my mom's 1/2 ton 64 pickup.

My 16x6 have 0 off-set they are trailer rims and Dot. they are built like the smoothy rims, no slots in the center hub. Black power coated at $65.95 eh. free shipping over $99. You do need different lug nuts. (as seen in my build)

Re: 16x6 6 Lug GM Steel Wheel with 4" BS

Les I'm running 16's from my ole 48 fleetline there 16's by prolly 3 1/2 to 4" wide there pretty narrow,I had to grind alittle on inside of wheel and also on caliper to clear..

without cap

these also have the clips for caps..

If I get a chance tomorrow I'll take a picture and measure the backspace..
here's a front view

Randy,

Thanks for the photos, looks nice, BS would be nice if you get a chance.

Jason,

Research has pulled out a couple of applications for the 16x6, with 6 lugs:
O Blazers had them as an option, Jimmy maybe, from SPID photos
O Reseaching for more.......

If you find them, actual BS would be great, photo of the front too.

Thanks,
Les

To me it looks more like 3" to the bottom of the tape...
But also the tape doesn't look to be sitting squarely on the other side of the rim lip.

Re: 16x6 6 Lug GM Steel Wheel with 4" BS

yep 3" Jason I was looking at the top for some reason but if it were 4" then I wouldn't have had to grind some on the inside of wheel and caliper....My Dad had gave me a wheel one time to try on my ole car but it wouldn't work I think the center was either not big enough or something but it was a wide wheel but seemed like it had the clips for the caps..I'll have to look in my building to see if I still have it and I'll take some pictures, And I think he said he had 3 others so it would be a whole set...

Re: 16x6 6 Lug GM Steel Wheel with 4" BS

Research, like that of many others here, is not showing, GM made 16x6 6 lug wheels, or at least they were not common. It is interesting why they continued to make the 16x5 6 lugs for so long.

Jason,
Will be interested in your 16s if you get a chance.
