Firm up shifts on 6L80E

Is there a method to firm up the shifts on a 6L80E without getting into the unit? As in tuning, that does not have unwanted side effects? I have a 2014 tahoe that I would like a firmer shift on.

HP Tuners does this. Takes some knowledge to get it done though.

Does manipulating the shift pressures shorten the life of the tranny in any way? I am not a street racer, I just like a more positive feeling shift.

Re: Firm up shifts on 6L80E

longer time between gears = more clutch slip .

so for the most part shorter shifts to a point will not hurt the trans .

but full on race shifts and crazy mods do tend to shorten the life of some parts .
