T400 kickdown wiring question
I notice there are 2 wires that go to the switch on the intake to sense wide open. One is power I assume that comes from the fuse panel? The other is an orange wire that I think should be going down to one of the terminals on the tranny. Would I run a ground wire to the other terminal of the tranny? For whatever reason it is all missing.

you are close. there is a positive wire from fuse block that goes to one of the terminals on the switch and from the other terminal run a wire down to the kickdown solinoid on the drivers side of the tranny. sounds like you have 2 prongs. i cant remember which one is the right one maybe some one else will know.

The orange one is the kickdown that goes to the solenoid on the tranny.

You must have the double prongs on your transmission. The female receptor for that switch has a black wire and an orange wire
coming out of it, (black for ground, orange for power from the kick down switch). I would suggest that you obtain the plug because it seals the switch from the elements. I believe that the power goes to the cross or top of the the tee configuration and the ground goes to the verticle of the tee that is formed by the two terminals. Power to your kickdown comes from the ignition terminal on your fuse panel. Jim

Yup, its got 2 terminals on the plug on the side of the tranny. I guess I will try and find one at the wrecking yard, or maybe GM will sell a repair pig-tail I can use.
