Re: '67 gmc c30

Yeah I agree. I have always had a real interest in original honest representations of older cars and trucks. I particularly enjoy vehicles that have a traceable history.
I actually still own my first car - almost 30 years now. I occasionally speak with the original owner and more often speak with the second owner - who i ended up buying it from in '88

The daughter of the original owner (she's pictured as a baby in bed of truck when new ) of my GMC and I are in contact often. I keep her posted on updates with the truck. She is always on the lookout for anything laying around that has anything to do with the truck.

Nice Truck, enjoy every minute of it, even the frustrating chasing wiring bugs times!

Re: '67 gmc c30

I drove the truck to work yesterday and on a few errands
Tonight i took my daughter to a local cruise at an ice cream stand.
Picked my son up at the golf course on the way home.
What a truck - smiles all around

It's what they do.., put you back in time, and a smile on your face. No better feeling in the world, or at least my book.

Re: '67 gmc c30

It may sound crazy but Ive spent some time cleaning up the interior.
It's certainly not "detailed" but sure does look much better.
Getting ready for a Truck and Tractor show next weekend. Going to put an older Cub Cadet garden tractor in the bed.

I would really love to replace the carpeting with a "decent" used / original one.
Fawn color, Manual Trans . Dont want to install a new repro unit.

Re: '67 gmc c30

This is the second time I looked at this thread and Son of a *****, I remember seeing this truck down there for a long time and saw it come up Rockaway Blvd on your flat bed! I never stopped to see if I could buy it.

Great story and history of another saved truck!

Looks good. I would put the rubber floor mat in, your truck looks too commercial for carpet. But I am bias and believe carpet should be in cars only

Re: '67 gmc c30

Well, if you saw it on Long Island, it wasnt my flatbed. BigRigPardo is the guy who saved it from the towing company. I bought it from him end of last year.

Regarding the interior.. this truck actually has and always did have carpeting . Its still there just pretty ratty. It has vinyl door panels not metal. Ill get some pics tomorrow. It also originally had a buddy bucket seat too.
On my wish list for sure!

Re: '67 gmc c30

I assume you saw it outside a towing company / repair shop?

Re: '67 gmc c30

yup he saw it on rockaway blvd in front of the towing company that towed it for the original owner. it sat dirty as **** with all sorts of trash in the bed on the side walk for quite a while. I saw it on craigslist over and over and said sent my brother over to see if it was worth me going to get it and it was. well sort of there were paperwork issues that took time to figure out but hey I liked the truck and got it all done. here is a pic as it sat on rockaway and a pic loaded coming home.

Re: '67 gmc c30

That's where I saw it! I recall seeing it going North-West on Rockaway in front of 230-59 complex as I was turning in! Pardo could not have been on the road for more than 10 minutes when I saw him.
I thought it was a flatbed, but you show it on a trailer, which does not matter, I remember the truck not what was under it or pulling it!

Re: '67 gmc c30

These are the very first pics I took of it. The day BigRig delivered it to me. Hows that for confidence?? We had never met, only texted and spoke on phone a couple times. We worked a deal where he'd trailer it right to my house. I was confident enough after our talks that I wanted it and was going to hire a tow truck to go and get it. BigRigPardo offered up his trailer and Cummins and brought it right to my door!! I thought I took a few pics of it on his trailer in front of my house but I was too distracted / excited.. Any, heres, the truck, Big Rigs dog and BigRig himself taking off his plates.

What an awsome thread and cool history. I love the 67 GMC's and this is a cool unmolested truck. It is so cool that you are in contact with the original owners.

Yes. It's very cool that theyre so willing to share whatever they remember or even what they find around the house having to do with the truck. The other day, an envelope arrived with some old insurance cards and registrations. Theyre always on the lookout for stuff.

Hoping to keep the GrumpTruk out of the elements this winter. Moved the Olds off to the side to make room. Plan to rebuild front brakes and replace exhaust y-pipe during the off season.

Re: '67 gmc c30

So I keep in touch with the trucks' original owners' daughter. Shes always on the lookout for more paperwork and/or pictures of it. These are the newest additions to the album. I love old pictures and candid ones are even better!
