Its funny that I found this thread. My 64 has a bunch of stuff written under the hood. I normally take a can of gunk and would have cleaned under the hood by now. The only reason I have not is because I didn't want to ruin the markings. I will have to decode my Vin...

And the pic on the right from that post is from a 1965 C10 that I'm currently building. It is a St. Louis truck as well. The marking shown is C1434, which is the model (1/2-ton shortbed fleetside).

When I brought it I was looking for a truck my birth year.
If I read this correct I got within the same month. (3-1960)

dad's 65 built in flint I believe has some big numbers across the firewall, I'll try to remember to take pictures tomorrow..

but this in my '02 gmc is funny I thought.. 'Dear Willie' under the cabin air filter housing..

62 Chevy suburban The 301 is for the seats 3 in the front split bench 0 in the middle and 1 as the folding pilot seat for the ambulance.

The signatures are just graffiti.

The scribed numbers are probably supplier date code or an inventory count on the detail part.
