Rear Coils 1969 GMC 1500 Suburban

Just asking around to see if this is a correct option for my towing package.

Would like to replace factory rear coil with Moog #6101 or Raybestos #5891011
HD Constant rate 1700# load rated units.

I have installed coil over shocks already, I am trying to get rear ride up a little to take a little weight of my equalizer bars. I am only pulling total of about 3500-4000#. Tom

Can you install one of those air bag systems? I thought they made a set just for towing

Thanks Paul, I have looked into air bag system and I'm more old school when it comes to cruiser/tower set up and would like to stay with the HD coil setup.

Anyone out there changed their rear springs to the ones listed?

I'm not sure if they were originally available on the Suburban, but I had a '72 LWB with factory helper springs.

I thought they were great because they did not affect the ride when unloaded but really helped when towing. Like these:

That is a very interesting spring setup, I have never seen one like this before. Looks like it would work great. I am sure there are not a lot laying around. Thanks for the picture.

I wonder if you could have a spring shop make something like these. Very cool idea.
