Truck will not turn off

I have a 1979 K5 Blazer and today, after going to run some errands, the truck will not turn off with the key turned off and even removed. I have to pull the hot wire off of the distributor to shut off the engine and pull the negative battery cable to disable the electric fuel pump. I would assume its either the key lock cylinder or the ignition switch, but I figured I would consult y'all first before digging into anything.

Re: Truck will not turn off

Feedback from the Alt through the Alt light/field wire can cause run on. Normally fails open but you can check by pulling the 2 wire plug out of the alt.

Agree that most probable is ignition switch or the linkage from the key cylinder to the switch.
