My buddy has a 41 shortbed he got with a 1 ton or something like that. Anyway he`s not really into it so I was thinking about trying to get it. What can be done to the chassis on a budget? I know I can do a MII frontend but what about the rear suspension? Also, how hard is it to fit a V8 in there? What about 4spd linkage? I`ve never really looked into these year trucks but I`m kinda starting to like the idea of a early 40`s hot rod.

there is enough room to put a small block in you may have to run a hyd. clutch with a 4 speed. if I had it I would make my own frame out of 2x4 or 6 box tubing and Z the rear frame under the box- GO FOR IT sounds like fun
