All my measurements came off the back of the cab to rear of the frame. Both over all measurements where 75" so at least I know my cab is square!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Thumbs up Re: Daughters 68 step...

I had a nice little surprise from another forum I post on this morning when I got up. Bangshift did a small write up on the 68. My daughter was tickled PINK!

https://bangshift.com/general-news/p...s-first-truck/

Today I started on the drivers side repair cutting out and heating up the what was left of the old rocker and backing plate to get it out.
Hope to have all this welding done by weeks end.
Not cutting out near as much on the cab corner on this side as we did on the other side.

Drivers side about done. Spent 8.5 hrs on it today cutting, grinding and welding metal. Oh did I mention grinding on it!
The door shuts good with good gap all around.
More filler welding and then more grinding it should be good.

I really like these new push on door weather strips I got from GMC Pauls. They fit great and are super easy to install. All I did was scrap all the old sealer off and I had to tap the lip in a couple of places to insure they would grip the molding. They are great and I will be ordering another set for the 71C-10. I have a set for the ramp truck already.

I installed both door handles and adjusted both doors. They shut good and tight and the doors align good with the body.

Door regulators and latches showed up. Waiting on the vent window rebuilding kit to get here to start back on the door's. I got the glass back in the frame for the side glass. I took one vent window a part to have it cleaned up and painted so I can get started with rebuilding it.

Drivers side door is done except for the inside panel, arm rest and new window crank. I also put the dash pad in and the wiring is back in the truck. Passenger side will be soon. I have to get the vent window done first though.
Question for ya'll though... The drivers side door shuts good and has no gaps that look out bad. But for the life of me I can not get the dang door to lock!!! What am I missing? The passenger side shuts and looks just fine. Any thoughts on this. I adjusted the sticker for over 2hrs today and it want lock. I can open the door and it locks just find no binding.

Got the passenger side window in and all the rubber seals installed. New door latch. Wired up the wiper switch, dimmer, key switch, starter and HEI. I cut the resistor wire right at the fuse block and added a normal wire to the cap. Got the ground straps hooked up to the frame cab and motor.

Thanks,
had another good day in the shop. Swapped the old rod gas pedal out to my old 71 cable pedal. Got the transmission cooler lines all done. Heater box is all done, cables and wired up. Got to install fan motor. Dash is temporarily hooked up to check electrical stuff out tomorrow. New fire wall & radiator plastic tray for wiring installed. Got to strip the wiring harness for the internal alternator and install the head light relays.

Got the drivers door latch replaced with new one installed Tilt column waiting on the DD/ to 36 spline union to show up to finish installing it. Got the heater box all back in and wiring harness is all hooked up. Lights are hooked up temperarly to try the wiring out.
I was told today I have until Jan 31 2020 to be done. I shouldn't have any problem with that.
