autox question

wasn't sure which forum to put this under, but i know alot of the handling/racing guys hang out here.

Was trying to decide what stall to run in my protouring build(4.8-4l60e) - will be mostly doing autox and some road race stuff, plus the usual cruising. Had decided on a 3000 rpm stall, but the more i thought about it the more i wondered how it would effect getting back on the throttle after the apex. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: autox question

To much stall coming out of corners can be a shock to the tires as you slam the throttle. Especially if just off idle coming out.

A cheap option is a Trailblazer I6 converter. It stalls around 2400 with a 4.8, and they can be had cheap. I got my for $150 when I had my 07. This way you can test stall cheap enough, and it does provide a good kick in the pants from idle.

BTW what are you putting this engine into?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
