Here's a pic of the bed & fenders mounted and painted. Pay no attention to the 150 pound rott tied to the truck. He provides security while I run inside for stuff.

Looking good! Do you guys have a finish time yor working on, or are you working at a casual pace? It looks like you're real close to having it go down the road. Congratulations on the progress.

I'm try'n to finish it up as soon as possible. I was injured in Iraq in 2005 and the Corps retired me. I have more bad days than good, so I'm not really able to work on it as much as I'd like. I hope to have it done really soon thou.

About the farm cat comment...as long as the cat is older than ten years old, missing a leg, declawed, with asthma. This little one year old, half poodle will wear it out. He's been training to kill against my son's ginny pig. He's winning about half the fights they get into. He'll put a nasty hicky on yer ankle if ya get to close!

Just don't forget to un-tie the dog before your first test drive! Cool project and even cooler is your son is helping and your going to make memories that will last a life time .

That's funny right there! Seriously though, thank you for serving and sacrificing for our country - I hope that you have been told that a million times, and it's still not enough, IMO. Very cool project, looks like it's gonna be a beautiful truck when you're done.

I am so sorry to hear about the physical and no doubt mental pain and anguish you are experiencing from your injuries. Regardless of my personal feelings about the situation over there I have nothing but the highest respect for the men and women in uniform who are defending the world from terrorism.

Did you have to do anything special for the radiator support? To fit the s10 frame. i would like to see a pic.

quick question, what did you do for the headliner and interior, did you glue it to the cab or screw it in or? Is it just fabric or fabric and fiberboard or something?

Here's a pic of what I did today. I know it's not the right way to do it. My son didn't want wood in the bed or not wood grain showing, so I could either go with a painted steel bed or painted wood. I couldn't get myself to paint the $300 plus wood bed kit they sell so I went to Home Cheapo and spent $48 on a 1" -4x8 sheet of floor board and some 1x6, 1x10 planks. I still have to remove all the rust and paint the strips black. I'm gonna hide the filler neck with a ammo can

The seats are out of a 2003 Honda Accord coupe.

I did the headliner out of fiberboard then just spray glued the fabric to it. The rest is glued to the cab. My local fabric place sold me this interior glue in a can (plain paint type can, they wouldn't tell me the name for some reason). It's like crazy glue. I brushed it on and set the fabric.

When I did the radiator support I couldn't find a good pic of the way people were doing it on GMC's, so I made mine sit at a slight angle. I had to make room to get to the radiator cap. I'll get you some pic's in the morning to show you what I'm talking about.

Here's an update to some of the things I've done. I finally got all the paperwork finalized via the DMV. mounted the running boards,hid my battery and gas neck, glass is all in. I still have a lot of small things left like extend the running boards up front a couple of inches, extend the aprons so there closer to the cab,wetsand the red oxide primer, finish up interior. I'm getting close to my budget of 5 grand. I'm at $4,897.63 that includes the price of DMV fees and the cost of the S10,sandpaper the whole 9 yards. I'd like to get some nice door panels from rod door's and an electric wiper set-up, but I guess I'll have to wait till the wife throws me a few dollers. I've driven it a few miles from my house to see how she runs. So far it been okay, theres a lot of squeeks coming from the rear fenders, as there not braced yet. other then that I'm pretty happy.

Daniel U, will do man. I hope to have it finished by summer time. Without wipers I don't know how far I'd get. I'd really like to see your truck up close, I really like the way you truck is turning out.

I just got back from about a 30 mile ride in the 53. Everything went well besides the gutless 2.8 V6 in it. That engine might be better for a lawnmower. Looks like I'm gonna be in the market for something with a little more pep. I think a Vette engine might do the trick.

You're lucky it's not a 2.8 with an automatic. I had a 87 S-10 2.8/auto and it was the biggest pig I've ever driven. I have a 2.8 4spd farm use S-10 now that has twice the get-up than that old automatic one.

Re. the 1X4 under the rear wheels: Looks like your next move is the emergency brake.
Thanks for the picture of the carpet. I've been wondering how I will get the carpet done. Looks like I can just buy a piece of carpet and cut to fit then have the edges bound at the carpet company.

I bought a Lokar e-brake, however, I had to weld a longer arm at the bottom to fully engage the s10's parking brake. So to keep my pig from ending up out in the street I had to use the 1x4's. It's now been taken care of. As far as the carpet goes. I built a tranny hump so none of the carpet kits would work. So I had to cut and fit my own. I plan on use'n some polished aluminium angle stock to cover the door area. I had some carpet left over so I'll cut it up and make some floor mats, and get the eges bound.
