Updates a few days after having the “new” Truck

So I made a new member post a few days ago but nothing on the main feed. I picked up a 69 swb step side c10 this week! Drug her from the woods all 4 wheels locked and tires flat. With the heat and the Holliday I haven’t gotten a lot done but I did get it hosed off and rolled around under it checking the floors. What I know so far is it has a v8 aluminum intake 750 Holley longtubes dusk exhaust with glasspacks pretty sure it’s a Saginaw 3 speed but the truck was originally a 6cyl 4 speed. Still has the forward shifter hole in the floor covered with a speaker HA! Needs a lot of engine bay wiring it’s been butchered. Oh and it’s a leaf spring Truck which I was surprised by. Anyway I’ll keep updating here are some pics.

Oh I also found the original owners manual and warranty pamphlet with protect-o-plate and a bunch of old documents in the dash. Pretty excited about that. Anyway more pics of clean up.

I do know it was ordered as a cab/chassis for a utility company so who knows.

Looks like someone parked a decent truck for whatever reason and there it sat! The cargo lamp makes me curious as well. I figure whoever fixed it up before installed it.

It has frenched antenna and taillights, so it was loved at one time. Glad to see it coming back.

Re: Updates a few days after having the “new” Truck

Yeah hate that it was parked like it was but what can ya do? Picked up some used tires for it today so I can move it around. Hope to try to start it this weekend also. Future plans will probably be getting my boost ready gen4 5.3 I have and a 4l80e and make a daily out of it. Possibly single turbo later. Going to need cab supports and rockers at a minimum though.

I'd have been all over that! It is a high hump cab I presume? Post up a picture of the SPID.

Sadly the SPID is pretty wrecked from the glove box door being left open for years.

Got my used tires mounted today! Also got the engine to turn over by hand and then with a bump switch. Out power to the coil but not getting spark. Going to try and investigate more tomorrow. I do know the engine bay wiring needs redone it’s a disaster I’m surprised if it ever ran. Truck is currently sitting on some 31x10.5 and 33x10.5 tires and steel wheels that were in the bed of the truck...

Thank you! The dogs aren’t quite sure how to take this truck so far.
