Urgent question

Which way are these sbc mounts face? Are these correct? I had them the other way now dropping this motor in I’m questioning the direction as my motor kept favoring the driver side

Re: Urgent question

I understand they are in the I6 location. But the direction of the mounts is my concern.

Re: Urgent question

This is from another post in this board. Not sure if these are correct as my mounts are shaped a bit different

Re: Urgent question

I think they are only designed to bolt in one way. One bolt on the bottom, and whichever holes line up on the frame rail is where it is supposed to go

Re: Urgent question

Thanks. In the I6 I had to drill a lower hole: obviously the top two line up regardless which way. Just making sure as when I bolt up the motor it’s cocked to the right when looking from the front end. Not sure how much the transmission will move it over. Hence why I’m asking. Driving me up the wall

Re: Urgent question

Did you look in this area of the board?

I know nothing of these type of swaps so this might not even be an area for you, but give it a look see.

Re: Urgent question

Your using stock mounts in the 6 position to install an LS engine ?

Re: Urgent question

Passenger side and v8 hole location looks like? I will take a look again. I'm in the I6 spot. Apparently the further back it can go the better?

I would like to continue to use the slots as I already have a driveshaft made up. I just want to make sure they were accurate

If I use the mounts as you have them in the I6 slot, there is not alot of meat for the bottom bolt as its getting very close to the edge of the crossmember.

Correct. I was told the further back the motor goes the better the weight transfer.

Mine were indeed like this originally. I was moving them around to make sure I wasn't missing something.

But, thank you again for the pic! I will leave mine like this.

I suppose I can move the mounts to the factory v8 configuration and use the forward most slots. This apparently puts the LS in the same position if using a factory bellhousing and the crossmember slot. I have a 4l80e, so I had to redrill my accordingly.

Re: Urgent question

The V8 stands go to the forward set of frame holes. The stands in the first pic are one set of holes to far back and the stands are on the wrong sides. They locate just like PJmoreland's pic. Why ask for direction and then say your going to leave them as is? The LS swap mounts are engineered for factory stand locations. You got them in the wrong holes and on the wrong sides! Hurry up and do it wrong?
