Sectioned front fenders - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So I saw a writeup a while back where someone took and sectioned their front fenders to sit lower on the wheel. I've hunted around and can't find anything now. I saved this picture from it and now that I've got the tools and space, I'd like to try this out on my truck.

That glutton for punshiment would be me. Granted the repop fenders were damaged in shipping, so I didn't have much to lose. A couple hundred hours of welding, hammer/dolly, grinding, fill/sand repeat later, this is how it turned out:

They turned out looking pretty awesome though! Never saw the final product, and now I really think I might have to find a set of cheap fenders and get some practice in haha. Love the subtle change it gives the stance!

Thanks! It started out with me having to stretch the bedside wheel openings and widen the wheel tubs because I used to run a 31x16.5 rear tire. It kind of snowballed out of control from there...

I know that feeling very well! Outside of being thin repop sheet metal, how much of a pain were they to section down? I think closing those openings just a touch like you did would give this truck a nice extra spot of attitude.

Your truck looks badass! What really compelled me to lower the front fender opening was stretching the rear wheel opening 3.5 inches for the taller rear tire. After stretching the bedside wheel opening, it then looked proportionally shorter since the opening was wider. Here's what it looked like just before paint:
