Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

Im in search of red shoulder belts...... I know they are desirable, but Im sure they need to be sent away to be re-woven. I had a set for a newer truck sent out last year, and it was $400 because they counted it as 4 retractors.

What price are you thinking? please let me know......thanks, Greg

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

Do you have any pics?what is the overall condition? Fair?...are the buckles pitted and need rechromed? Are the belts nice or need re-woven? Its hard to begin to state a value without knowing the condition of everything.

I would think a couple hundred. Just my opinion. Any other members have an idea ?

southernparts just sold this set for $125 - you can search his thread to compare - "they`re rough.pulled from a 69 suburban ambulance. both boots are faded and torn, one is missing the piece that the bolt goes thru. retractor covers are both cracked. $125 shipped"

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

They look decent from what i see. Maybe up to $300 if you have all of the belts from the truck and they are not damaged.

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

The condition of the rubber boots that retain the male buckle on the pillar will dicatate the value. That is the only part not reproduced.

The rebuilt set that sold for $200 did not have the OEM rubber boots. Those were repro boots readily available. The mounting tabs on those also look to have been flattened in a vice, which tells me they were probably original center seat belts.

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

They appear to be the one year only 69' color red interior belts. It was a deeper red/maroon color. My red set is more of a fire red color. I am with Eric on this.... $275-300. Trevor

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

New vehicles are always introduced the fall pf the prior year. So,the first '69s were made in '68 and that's the date of manufacture on that tag. I agree these are worth $300+ if cleaned up nicely.

I know about the years but the truck is titled as a 68 must be a late one but regardless glad it has the belts for me to sell

Re: 68 chevy red shoulder seat belts

I think you could get $400. I sold a set of excellent blue ones for that much. These look almost as nice (mine were from a Suburban ambulance). The retractor can be found and replaced. s for the year of truck, what dies the rest of the truck tell you as to whether it's '68 or '69? Does the dash have wipers & headlights on same side? Door panels, steering wheel, hand or foot e-brake,etc. To me,they still don't look Bright Red
