Selling My K20 4WD Projects

Chevy K20 60-62 frame - there are no cab mounts on it. Very straight and clean. As it sets on my trailer - $550.00.

I have a 61 GMC 4WD K20 long bed - it does not have a bed. The frame is very nice. It's a very solid truck. The only rust on it is around the top of the windshield. I have all the parts to fix it. It does not have a GMC motor. It has a SBC 350 with a fresh set of heads on it. It does run. The truck needs to be finished putting together. If you want more pictures PM me your cell and I will send you some. $1950.00 with a Kansas bill of sale.

Serious inquiries only!!

Nice frame. How different is the 62 K20 frame from a 66 K20 frame? Geez I would like to have one that nice for a 66.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

In response to the question if this frame will work on a 66; David (shortstep60) believes it will if you use a 60-62 front bumper and use a 60-62 radiator.

David currently is unable to respond on the forum, because his computer is currently down. Hopefully he will be back up soon.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

And the front cab mounts on the '60-'62's are farther apart side to side. It is as simple as drilling 2 new holes in the '63-'66 cabs.

Thanks to everyone who shared their knowledge. I see that the earlier frame is adaptable to the later body, but I'm more of a purist. I know if I bought the frame I would not adapt it, but would put it back together as a '62 with '62 parts. That would give me two projects one 66 and one 62, much to the disdain of my wife... Hope someone restores this one exactly. The price is right for sure and if it was closer to me it would already be sitting in my garage, despite the home battle. Thanks again to all. Joe P in CT.

Would you sell the handbrake assembly? I could use the brackets, rods, hardware, handle and brake band. Also, hate to cut the frame, but if you are willing, I could use the cross brace and triangle truss pieces between the two rear spring brackets. The easiest way to remove that piece would be to cut the left and right frame rails just ahead and aft of the spring perches and ship it like that. I’m I’m Connecticut...

Thank you,
Joe P.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

I hate to cut the frame up but if you want to give me some good money for the parts I would. Once I cut that frame I just have a pile of scrap iron. I will check on some transmission parts for you thanks

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

Dave I think you can remove that brace by blasting the rivets. Shame to cut a good 4WD frame, they're so rare.. I'd scoop it up if I was closer.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

I no of a lot of 60-66 trucks around 120 parts trucks and there is no 4wd trucks. You would think living in Kansas there would be but there’s none. Parts are getting hard to find I been trying to find a nice rust free drivers side door for my 64 and I can’t find a nice one.

Dave, that rear cross-member brace and the triangle gussets are worth $100 to me plus shipping. I would also be hesitant to cut the frame. It should really be preserved. If you were closer I would buy the whole thing and build it as my next project. Thanks for your courtesy... Joe P.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

Do you have any current pictures of the frame that you could upload to this thread. The reason for asking the pictures shows the trans but you have already sold that, not sure what else is missing verses what comes with it.

Re: Selling My K20 4WD Projects

From what you see in the picture I pulled the transmission and front shock brackets. I have a guy that wants the rear braces off the back. I will grind the rivets off don’t want to cut up the frame.
