[QUOTE=juanz1947;5207428]Here my dad straight axel truck 1954 Chevy 3 inch drop axle and some leaf springs remove

Ok, just learning here. I have a 49 that I want to lower. So, what is straight axel and 3 inch drop axel?
His truck looks really good. I love the tires. Any info on them?
Thanks,
Jonna

I have a 57 and it looks like with the 3" drop ax and monos I can get pretty low. Not on the boards like I want but funds wont allow.

Re: pics of your lowered straight axel 3100

Just actually ordered my 4" dropped axle (also does 3") from Sid at Droppedaxles.com. I will say he very knowledgeable, incredibly helpful, and easy to work with thus the reason behind getting my business. Head over to http://www.droppedaxles.com/ to check out a guide on the installation of the dropped axle, the parts needed, and even pictures of customer's trucks.

Good luck.

The kit I got was $375 but didn't include a pedal assembly, the kit with the pedal is about $650, but that was only because I got the pedal assembly from a guy who decided to go with a firewall mount instead.

Re: pics of your lowered straight axel 3100

Sorry for late reply.
Sid asked, and i told him disk brake upgrade was in the future so if i remember its a little different to make up for the disk brakes.
The picture angle just makes it look like a huge difference. I can measure this weekend.
As for the scrub line - with 15" wheels... Its close. Hope i dont have a flat.
