SPecial paint codes

Looking at some parts for a 72 Blazer and it has some weird paint codes. Tried a search and couldn't find anything. 4704AA, 4704AH, 4704AG. Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: SPecial paint codes

Most likely was one of a batch of fleet Blazers produced for one particular customer....
perhaps a municipality...forest service...fire dept...etc...... that wanted a specific color

Re: SPecial paint codes

I looked up the California line in the SPID and it was an optional emissions test. Even back then.....

Fleet or Forest Service makes sense.

Re: SPecial paint codes

Any indication as to what color the original paint is? Any non-oem holes in the dash?

Re: SPecial paint codes

The cab interior looks white. I don’t know what holes to look for but I have pictures.

Re: SPecial paint codes

Looks like there’s a blue stripe across the top of the dash? Seems odd that white, which was available standard, would be a special order but granted there’s a myriad of shades of white. The windshield frame has a hole for a utility spot light on the rh side - supports a fleet application maybe?

My guess is a California state rig.

Re: SPecial paint codes

Could be law enforcement. Somewhere on this forum I posted a vintage photo of a K5 1st gen CA Sheriff’s rig - I’ve tried to locate the post. Will keep trying.

Re: SPecial paint codes

Got skunked. It sold before I could get the trip set up. Rats! I really just wanted the chassis anyway.
