Blazer Bed

I am looking at replacing the entire floor of my 72. I have come across a sale on pick-up replacement pieces. It is split up between front half and rear half. How much work am I looking at to make it work for what I am wanting?

Re: Blazer Bed

If you are talking aftermarket replacement P/U bed deck panels, the ones I
have do not match the OEM profile on a pickup truck's bed.

Whether Blazers' are different, or if it depends on brand...
(don't know what brand mine are.)

Re: Blazer Bed

I used a LWB bed floor, you will have to use your original frame mounts from the cross braces off of your blazer tub, wheather you use the entire brace or a section. You will likely need the front and rear of your blazer tub floor as well. The rear cross brace frame mounts are different also. All of the bolt holes matched up really well for wheel tubs, bedsides, and bolts holes at frame mount locations. NOt sure how well new patches match up, this is just what I did:

Re: Blazer Bed

I'm leaning on the full floor at once. I have contacted these folks and they have said some re-fab on the front end is needed, but the width and wheel wells are the same. Anyone have any experience with this? My problem is that someone had a 73 up bed installed in my truck. Nothing to go by Check this link out http://www.gmcpauls.com/bed_patch_panels1.htm

Re: Blazer Bed

I used a LWB pickup bed floor, I had to fab/change all crossmembers at body to frame locations. The blazer crossmembers are recessed (different than the truck) at the frame locations, I also had to change the complete rear crossmember as the frame mounts are different, and cut front section and rear section to fit, all wheel houses and bedsides fit reallly well (All bolt holes) If I were doing this again I probably would take the time and money and look for a good tub.
