Driveshaft to cab contact?

Anyone have issues with this on these trucks? My '64 has a factory "notch" in the back of the cab, where my '67 does not. My buddy's '67 was so low he had his driveshaft hit the back of his cab so I was curious if anyone lowered with a '64-'66 ever had this issue? I'm going with 2.5" drop spindles and 3" springs up front, then custom 4 link and c-notch out back with coilovers, so I'll be decently low.

Re: Driveshaft to cab contact?

well one thing we need to know is if yall were running the 2 peice or 1 peice drive shaft. And you shouldn't have problems with it depending if your not moving the cab down to bodydrop. On your buddys 67 since it's not notching and I'm guessing he was running the 1 peice driveshaft you have to notch it.

Re: Driveshaft to cab contact?

I have a one piece driveshaft as does he. He had to cut most of the metal out of the factory driveshaft hoop crossmember. And no bodydrop for me. I think I should be good, maybe just have to make that hoop in the crossmember taller.

Yeah you will have to cut the trailing arm crossmember. If your going with a 4 link and not using the trailing arms just cut it out and build your own.

Re: Driveshaft to cab contact?

Ya I should have cut it out when I had the cab off already haha I screwed the pooch on that one. I think I'm just going to cut the top of it off and extend it upward.
