Wow! I would have gone ahead and bought some new 8-17.5" tires for this time capsule. It would have been nice if the tire manufactures offered a larger 17.5" tire, like a 9-17.5", but this never came to be.

I didn't know they even offered 17.5'' rims on these trucks. Was it an option? Both of my '70 C20s came with 16.5'' rims.

From the GM Heritage center packages it looks like 17.5 were dropped for 1969 on Chevy... and most likely GMC. Mine has 16's
