69 chevy 5 x 5 7/16" stud changing to 1/2" stud

Hello everyone. I have a "69" 1/2 ton rear, I want to say it was coded HO52 but don't remember for sure. It has aftermarket axles of 5 x 5 with 7/16" studs. I put a "71" or "72" front end under the truck with 1/2" studs. The question is this should I replace the axles or should I drill out the stud holes to fit the 1/2" studs. Thanks

I always thought that the 5 on 5 were 1/2", if not I guess I would drill them and install the 1/2 inch.
